About us

AniMedia East is an independent group who run events as well as promoting other clubs and organisations.

We started up as there were no substantial anime-related events in East Anglia, and because fans in the region found it difficult to discover other like-minded people with whom they can share their interests successfully, which includes us.

The story of AniMedia East

AniMedia East was founded back in July 2009 by Raye Springall (Raye) and also Melissa Joy (SlimDefinition) as there had been no substantial anime-related events in East Anglia, and because fans in the region have found it difficult to discover other like-minded people with whom they can share their interests successfully.

The AniMedia East committee, who run the events and meets, currently consist's of Raye Springall and Mark Harper. You'll also notice our volunteer FB admin, Melissa Joy who is currently working on her own fantasy novel.

Our main focal points are to:
A) Organise anime-style events in East Anglia, from small to large.
B) Provide East Anglia with its own community in which like-minded individuals in the region can chat online, meet at events and hopefully make new friends (however anyone and everyone is welcome).

We are an independent group who run events on our own as well as promoting other clubs and organisations. Their assistance in promoting events is very much appreciated.

In addition we aim to raise money for charity, and have so far raised funds for:

E.A.C.H
Air Ambulance
Pray for Japan

AniMedia East is a fan-based non-profitable group. Our Facebook and Twitter pages are the quickest sources for up to the minute information on the comings and goings of our group.
